Banana, Yogurt and Groundnut Puree

I like recipes with easy to find ingredients. this recipe is not only delicious, it is packed with nutrients and your baby will love it! It makes a lovely smoothie for older children as well.

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

2 large bananas
2 tablespoons yogurt Zeno’s Yogurt is my favorite because of its thickness)
1 tablespoon groundnut paste (you can use roasted groundnut if you don’t have paste)

Method

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
(Mash banana and mix ingredients with fork for older babies or for a thicker texture)

Can be given to babies six months and above.
P.S it important to test new foods on your baby by giving her the same food continuously for a week to check for possible allergies or stomach upsets.

    1. Actually, babies who are ready to eat solids can have normal unsweetened yogurt. Yogurt is cultured and contains probiotics, it’s safe for babies over 6 months unless your baby is allergic to milk. When buying yogurt, look for the ones with “unsweetened” labels. check that it has no sugar

    1. Hi Dorothy, if you are in Accra, you can get Zeno’s yogurt in Game or Shoprite but any other plain yogurt without sugar should also work fine

    1. yes, you can. Jut not too much otherwise it will be light and watery and you won’t be able to spoon it.

    1. I’m not sure if you’ll get some in Sunyani but any Greek yogurt should do. Just make sure it is unsweetened.
