I love working with foods that are readily available in my kitchen or easy to find on the market. You can find oats everywhere, and banana too.
Oats is a form of while grain cereal that retains all of its nutritional goodness even after cooking. It is rich in fiber, iron and zinc and is a healthy breakfast option even for adults. Because it is unnecessary to feed your baby sugar before he/she is one, i like to use natural nutritious sweeteners such as banana.
For this meal, you will need:
Half cup rolled oats/ quick oats
One ripe banana
- Blend the oats in a dry blender until smooth. you can use the oats as it is on older babies
- Add water and boil oats until it thickens. Add more water for a lighter meal.
- Mash banana in separate bowl and add to the boiled oats.
Serve with breast milk or formula.
